Abstract

Copyright is one of the laws of intellectual property. Librar1'es play a key role in educational institutions in many spheres, including protection of copyright The role of the librarian in the protection of copyright laws is multi-faceted. The librarian has the duty of directing users to have access to copyrighted and public domain works. Copyright is one of two branches of intellectual property law. Copyright protection has become an important instrument in the development process. The higher the level of copyright protection, the greater the encouragement for authors to create. Summarily, copyright law protects creators of information resources while also striking a balance between promoting users’ rights and creators’ rights. One of the recommendations made in this paper was that the government should ensure that copyright warnings are displayed in conspicuous locations in the library.
